The importance of staying positive

Sometimes when I am creating content I struggle with what to write, or if this is the correct time to write this topic or that topic etc. Or there could be a time where I am thinking why on earth did I write that? But then I realise at the time it is important I explain this topic or themes etc because they are important to me , especially the client, they all come from a good place where I am helping you and myself. Finally before I go into my next topic, please keep commenting on the blog posts. I really appreciate the lovely messages that you leave there. Also it helps me to plan future topics, and the direction that I can take the blog to. This also includes questions, if you have any, please feel free to ask me, and I shall do my best to respond to them.

Staying positive is really important, not just for mental health, but in all aspects of life as well. Clients ask me, "how do I bounce back from a week on binging on unhealthy options?" or similar questions/comments are " I want to give up, I have eaten the wrong food, I do not want to make changes anymore"

My answer (and this never changes) is tomorrow is another day. There is always another day to start again, and to begin the journey. Even it is good to go out and celebrate successes, which mainly involves alcohol and food. You are probably thinking what are you talking about?? But it is true!!

There is nothing wrong with that, it is great to give our bodies a break, and do something completely different. It is a nice change for us, and for our mental health. Take for example when we go on holiday, we are going to eat "bad" food and go for unhealthy drinks etc, but we are enjoying ourselves for a short period of time, and that is main part, having fun, smiling and living life.  What the pandemic has taught us is that life is short, we do not know what is going to happen round the corner right? This is why it is important to think of the now, not the past or the future. This is where planning comes into place when there is a big event coming up, I try to eat well a few weeks before that, on the weekend (or whichever day/week it is) I tend to eat how I please, and forget about the sugars, fat etc. I eat to enjoy, as well as looking after my body. There are times where something comes up, and I have not planned, and everything just falls off the wagon, it happens. There was a time that I was ill with the flu (not covid thank goodness) and I just ate what I wanted, I did not actually care at all to be honest. My aim at the time was to get better, that was it. I felt bad and rubbish that my hard work went out of the window, but what kept me going was finding ways to stay positive. Being positive, thinking positive really keeps my mind focused and helps with my mental health, especially during challenging times.

I am not sure if I mentioned this in my previous posts but I do like reading and listening to affirmations daily. I have just bought the new Katie Piper affirmations book. There are great affirmations in there, and I have just put one of them below. I know that the date is wrong, but who cares? These are great for everyday, not for a specific day, and it they are a great read for the mornings to really start the day off. I would highly recommend affirmations if you are feeling a bit down or disheartened with certain things that are going on. I am not stating that they will magically make you feel better (far from that) but it is a great start to begin that journey again to increase positivity.

Revolutionaries of wellbeing made a lovely comment on my blog, I checked out their website, and noticed that they are a community that supports with all aspects of wellbeing. They have a strategy of plans in place to help with all aspects of mental health, and I have linked this below, where they have a shop with different products: Shop

I purchased  the professional development pack called Leadership through recovery. It contains a variety of tools and and articles, but what I really liked was the  affirmations. My favourite is this one I have attached below, because that really summarises life, challenges and being positive.

If you do buy some of the other products please let me know how they were, and if you found them useful. It would be great to get feedback
