Breakfast is King

What I have come across when speaking and chatting to  clients is that they do not have breakfast in the morning. Instead they are waiting till lunchtime to have their first meal

This is not great at all as studies have shown that we are more than likely to gain more weight, and then have an increased chance of having dietary lifestyle diseases. When we do not have breakfast what happens is that we tend to have a larger meal which entails that we have excess calories/ fat etc and then we are doing this everyday, then that's when things start adding up. What also happens is that any meal will be retained by the body because it is not sure when the next meal will be. Finally the meals that we tend to have have too little nutrition value, low in fibre,  saturated fat, and sugar, which can cause high cholesterol and increased chances of high blood pressure.

So in this post I am promoting the importance of breakfast every morning. Variety is key so that we are getting lots of macronutrients as well as micronutrients. I really do try to have breakfast every morning regardless if I am running really late for work, sometimes it can be pieces of granary toast, or if I have alot of time it can be crumpets with scrambled eggs, and smoked salmon. The pictures I have put up is that but also this morning I had porridge with strawberries and blueberries. Oats are fantastic as they are high in fibre, low glycemic index, but with the fruit included I am trying to get portions of fruit and vegetables in there, as well as the vitamins and minerals.

So try not to skip breakfast, breakfast is the most important meal for the day.

  1. Absolutely! I used to skip breakfast, opting instead to grab a coffee on my way into work. It left me feeling so tired and hungry by midday. I always make it a point to eat something healthy now and I feel so much better.

  3. I skip breakfast. I notice that during the day, I feel tired and exhausted. But when I have my breakfast in the morning, I feel more active and get more work done, and it helps me stay focus all day. So I recommend having a fresh and tasty breakfast as possible each morning because it is the best way to start the day.

  4. I love your breakfast; it looks delicious and healthy. I enjoy making breakfast; it's my favorite meal of the day. Today I made a nice salad with eggs, brown bread, and some orange marmalade with a cup of coffee. It's simple but tastes good.

  5. I know that breakfast is one of the important meals that we should not miss. But sometimes when I'm busy in the morning, I pass it. During that day, I will experience bad migraines, that sometimes I'll have to go home early from work. So it is essential to have the nutrients your body needs to start the day each morning. Great article.

  6. Having a balanced breakfast in the morning can boost your activity during the day. You will feel more focused and have more energy to get things done faster. I would never skip breakfast, and I
can not go out or go to work in the morning without having at least one fruit or vegetable. Only to make sure I have the amount of energy needed to start my day.

  7. I tend to prepare my breakfast at night before going to bed; by doing this, I save time in the morning, and I don't skip my breakfast. When I prepare it at night, I have plenty of time thinking of all the healthy ingredients I could use to make my smoothie. I recommend doing this each night you won't feel lazy preparing your breakfast in the morning.

  9. The pictures look good! I can’t function properly after fasting during the night, and not replenishing. I love a good yogurt with peanut butter, and fruits like blueberries, or strawberries. I always feel like when I skip breakfast, my body is on catch up mode, and I overeat for lunch and dinner which is no good.
