Registered Associate Nutritionist

National careers week

So I have been invited to give a talk/ support students around options after school and college. Not only that but specifically discussing my role as a Nutritionist, and looking at that as a career option for them. It's a absolutely joy chatting to the students about me and my role, as I really love enjoying everything that I do. The best thing is noticing the changes that the client sees, and the joy that is noticed from them. Especially when they have really struggled with their lifestyle, including their weight. I look back at my school days, and there really wasn't any like career days, only an afternoon I remember where we went to the school library and had to research different careers. But that was all in a book form. There wasn't an invitation from like a person to discuss their career, or work. I am not slating the school or anything like that, it was just no opportunities at that time, and things have changed alot now anyway. Another moment where things have changed is the apprenticeships programme, which I think is fantastic!!
Another opportunity to have career experience, get paid but without going to university and going into debt. Again I am not slating university ( I went and done my degree in Nutrition) but again things have changed, and you know university is not for everybody, there are many famous people who are successful and did not go to university.
Try not to worry about where you are going in life, it will all work out in the end.

    1. Completely agree with you, if the career you want require you to go to university, then that would be the case , however if there are alternatives then this should be explored.

  2. I finished college but now I am doing something completely different and I am really happy. I like that I have my diploma, in case this doesn't work out.

  3. I am a big believer that everything, in the end, works out the way it supposed to, we are just too young when we are picking the university and when we are deciding our future.

  4. So much knowledge is free today if you are ready to learn, so I think University doesn't have a meaning like it used to.

  5. I love how you said that the best part of the job is seeing the change in your clients. This is exactly how I feel in my own line of work.
